Toddler killed by car in driveway of family home in Sydney's south west

A one-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a car in the driveway of a home in Sydney's south west on Friday afternoon.

A NSW Police spokesman said it appeared the boy's father, 36, had been driving the car.

The incident occurred at the family's home on Whitford Road, Green Valley sometime after 3pm.

The child's mother took him to Liverpool Hospital but he died a short time later.

The father has been subjected to mandatory blood and urine tests and police are investigating.

The car involved, a Mitsubishi ASX, was seized by police at the hospital and will be forensically examined.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
