A teenage boy has died in hospital after suffering a head injury in an e-bike crash in Sydney’s south on Thursday afternoon.

Multiple paramedic crews attended the scene, including intensive care paramedics, who treated the 14-year-old boy for a traumatic head injury.

He was taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, but later died.

Neither police nor paramedics could confirm how the crash occurred, and a crime scene has been established while police investigate the cause of the incident.

A video, which police have confirmed was the 14-year-old rider, shows a boy riding an e-bike and performing a wheelie while wearing a balaclava with no helmet.

The video pans back to another rider who is wearing a helmet and is filming the video. It is unclear if the video was taken on Thursday before the accident occurred.

The boy is yet to be formally identified. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
